About Us
The Alaskan Malamute Ranch Lapland AB is a family-run, nature-oriented business in the heart of Swedish Lapland.
In addition to our guests and our Alaskan Malamutes, the ranch will also be home to other animals, including horses and reindeer.
Our goal is to create a respectful and harmonious coexistence between humans, animals, and nature – authentic, honest, and full of passion.
Starting around 2027, we’re looking to expand our team with a dedicated Animal Caretaker who works with heart, mind, and a true connection to nature – and who identifies with the philosophy of our ranch.
Your Tasks

Feed and water the animals daily, and maintain stables and pastures

Groom animals and monitor their general health and condition
-
Assist with routine veterinary tasks (under supervision)

Maintain and care for stables, paddocks, and outdoor enclosures
-
Help care for our horses – feeding, exercise, and grooming
-
Drive horse and carriage (for rides, training, and daily exercise)
-
Support the setup and care of our reindeer herd (depending on the project phase)
-
Observe, identify, and report behavioral changes or unusual signs in animals
-
Lend a hand wherever help is needed on the ranch – you’re part of the team and contribute beyond the stables
Your Responsibilities

You share responsibility for the well-being of our animals and ensure cleanliness, safety, and structure in the stables and outdoor areas.

You work closely with the ranch team, take initiative, and contribute your own ideas to make daily life better for both animals and people.

Your Profile
You’re a great fit for us if you:

Have experience working with horses and other farm animals
-
Bring knowledge of feeding, grooming, and stable work
-
Hold a valid certificate or recognized qualification for driving horse and carriage
(e.g. carriage driving license, driving badge, or equivalent training – required) -
Love working outdoors, in all kinds of weather
-
Treat animals with respect, calmness, and a strong sense of responsibility
-
Enjoy physical work and don’t mind stable duties or muddy conditions
-
Are reliable, attentive, and a good team player
-
Work independently and take initiative in recognizing and completing tasks
-
Identify with the philosophy and lifestyle of the Alaskan Malamute Ranch
-
Have good English skills (additional languages are an advantage)
